A recent Psylocke commission.

I mistakenly picked up some strathmore that has more of a rough texture to it, and was battling the paper so much to get a decent image to "take hold" on the surface as it were that I ended up trashing the first attempt at this sketch. Mechanical pencils do not mix with soft rough paper in my world thats for sure. Though I toughed it out on this and a Mai Shuranui sketch [link] I've learned my lesson oh pulp master, I'll be sticking with a smooth finish from now on.

yeeeaaah... Strathmore and Mechanical pencils don't mix... i just stick with basic printer like paper with them.

That's just beautiful. It's amazing what you can do with just a mechanical pencil. I love the detail in your shading, and the way you use your line weight.

On the paper and pencil part. Do you end up with a lot of smudges and loose lead or something?
